Exam Rules


  • A candidate shall be declared passed in the examination if he/she secures at least 40% marks in Internal assignment and External Examination separately and 50% marks in aggregate.
  • A candidate is required to pass in theory as well as practical paper separately. A candidate who secures below 40% marks in Internal or External Examination in a paper will be declared failed in that paper. A candidate who secures 40% and below but above 50% marks (internal+external) in a particular paper will be declared failed.
  • A candidate who secures below 50% marks will be given D grade and considered failed; a candidate who secures overall 50% marks and above but below 60% marks will be awarded grade C; a candidate who secures overall 60% marks and above but below 75% marks will be awarded grade B; a candidate who secures overall 75% marks and above marks will be awarded grade A in the mark sheet issue at final semester/year.
    40% and above but below 50 Grade D Poor
    50% and above but below 60 Grade C Good
    60% and above but below 75 Grade B Very Good
    75% and above Grade A Excellent
  • Despite a candidate being declared failed, he/she will be eligible to appear in the next semester/year examination. Due paper will be treated as backlog paper(s). He/She has to clear the due Paper(s) along with the next semester/year examination. If the candidate does not avail these opportunities or fails in these attempts, his/her final semeseter/year will be declared but marksheet will not be issued.
  • No grace marks shall be awarded in internal assignments, practical papers & project. The grace marks will be awarded only on aggregate marks of theory paper upto 1 % of the maximum upto two theory papers. No grace marks shall be awarded in the due papers.
  • A candidate shall not be given any chance to improve the division/marks in any paper(s) in any semester/year.
  • Re-evaluation of answer books shall not be permissible. However, re-totaling is permitted as per University rules.
  • In case of any mistake being detected in the preparation of marksheet and brought to notice afterwards, the University will be fully empowered to correct the same.
  • The University has right to change any rule without prior information.
  • The final semester/year marksheet will show the total marks of all the semesters of that course as well as whether the candidate has cleared all the semesters/years or not.
  • (A) Lateral Entry(LE)- The University allows exemption with regard to the duration and number of papers of the course under the Lateral Entry Scheme.
    (B) Re-Admission Duration Exemption (RDE)- The University allows exemption of duration (year/s, semester/s, etc) at the UG Level to the candidates who have appeared at previous University in any year/semester. But they have to clear the unmatched papers according to the syllabus of the University or complete year/semester as per the University norms.
  • Candidates registered under the University are of two categories i.e; Regular and OUS. The candidates who are registered and studying regularly at the Program Study centers come under regular category and candidates who are registered under open University system come under regular category.
  • The candidate who is appearing at the examination for the first time (first attempt) is considered as fresh and the candidate who is appearing at the Examination for due paper(s) is considered as backlog.
  • Meaning of abbreviations used in the marksheet is as given below:
    P - Pass F - Fail A - Absent
    DE - Due in external PG - Pass with grace DA - Due in Assignment
  • All legal matters will be subjected to Udaipur jurisdiction only.
